Measurement of DIS cross section at HERA

Abstract: This paper presents recent measurements of the inclusive DIS cross section performed by the H1 and ZEUS collaborations at the HERA collider. We discuss relations of the HERA results with the upcoming experiments at the LHC. Importance of the planed measurement of the longitudinal proton structure function F L is commented.
