Dark energy in the universe, the irreversibility of time and neutrinos

Abstract: In this review, I discuss briefly how the presence of a cosmological constant in the Universe may imply a decoherent evolution of quantum matter in it, and as a consequence a fundamental irreversibility of time unrelated in principle to CP properties (Cosmological CPT Violation). In this context, I also discuss recently suggested novel possible contributions of massive neutrinos to the cosmological constant, which are not due to the standard loop expansion in quantum field theory, but rather due to unconventio… Show more

“…In particular, they are generated when cosmic rays hit atoms. Current evidences of dark matter and dark energy can be related to the issue that neutrinos have masses and that mass eigenstates mix and/or superimpose [45,410,434]. The observation of such a mixing is related to suitable constraints.…”

“…If we consider Solar neutrinos, we can use the following values: M ∼ M ⊙ ∼ 1.9891 × 10 30 Kg, r A ∼ r ⊕ ∼ 6.3 × 10 3 Km, and r B ∼ r A + D, where D ∼ 1.5 × 10 8 Km is the Sun-Earth distance. In order to estimate the phases differences (7), (8) and (16), we introduce the ratio Q grav defined as…”
