“…Avaliando o crescimento ósseo, Fretz et al (1984) Segundo Godoy et al (2004) o fechamento epifisário completo dos animais da raça Brasileira de Hipismo, ocorreu aos 25,83 ± 1,58 meses nas fêmeas e aos 28,16 ± 1,40 meses nos machos, observando-se que as fêmeas são mais precoces no parâmetro maturidade óssea. Luiz et al (2007) observaram na raça crioula a influência do sexo sobre o período de fechamento da placa epifisária do rádio. É possível que isso possa ser atribuído à diferença na atividade do hormônio do crescimento entre as fêmeas e os machos.…”
