Development of sequential injection methodologies for the spectrophotometric direct and kinetic determination of aluminium in natural and waste waters

Show more

“…The relative standard deviations for eleven replicate determinations of 0.1 and 0.25 mg L -1 were 3.2 and 2.4%, respectively. A comparable analytical performance of the proposed method with other flowbased methods for the spectrophotometric determination of aluminium, using various synthetic dyes, such as chrome azurol S (CAS), 11,32,33 eriochrome cyanine R (ECR), 34,35 and quercetin 36 was obtained, although, the developed method used only natural dye as a chromogenic reagent. In addition, the developed method provided a higher sensitivity than the previous flowbased methods using other natural reagents such as Morinda citrifolia root extract, 24 and Terminalia catappa L. leaf extract.…”

“…Because of the automaticity, preciseness, robustness, simplicity and low risk of contamination, ow injection analysis (FIA) is widely used for the determination of trace metals and nutrients. [27][28][29] By coupling spectrophotometry and an SPE technique, FIA has become a widespread method for the long term on-line monitoring of trace metals (Fe, Mn, Al). 14,30,31 In our work, a exible FIA method with an SPE technique based on a classic spectrophotometric method has been developed for the determination of trace dAl in seawater.…”
