“…[10,11] ARS has a tremendous potential for use in metal ions detection due to its high sensitivity for different metals. [4,5,[12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19] At the same time, ARS can form complexes with various metal ions [8,20,21] and can be used for their separation from waste waters. [22] ARS is employed by the scientists for the detection of proteins, different pharmaceutical formulations and phenothiazine derivatives.…”

“…A procedure involving solid sampling analysis by FAAS was proposed for lead determination in seawater samples after co-precipitation using naphthalene and alizarin red (Korn et al 2005b). On-line preconcentration systems involving knotted reactors have been proposed for determination of metal ions employing ICP-MS (Silva et al 2004b) and FAAS (Cerutti et al 2004;Souza et al 2005a).…”

“…Using electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry with a graphite furnace (GF AAS), Sant'Ana et al 19 and Takada & Koide 20 used, respectively, polyurethane foam loaded with cobalt and ion-exchange resin loaded with copper for the direct analysis, while González-Álvarez et al 21 used a porous polypropylene hollow fiber filled with a solvent for metal ultratrace preconcentration. DSSS has a unique application in FAAS as described by Korn and co-workers, 22 where the sorbent alizarin red-naphthalene loaded with lead was directly analyzed by FAAS. In this procedure, the sorbent loaded with lead was filtered, dried, ground, weighed into small vials and introduced in the form of a dry aerosol into a T-cell heated by a flame using an air flow, which makes the method somewhat laborious.…”
