Structural, morphological and spectroelectrochemical characterization of poly (2-ethyl aniline)

Show more

“…Absorption spectra of PEA were previously studied (Schemid et al, 2000) under varying potential. Such studies indicated that the redox process at ≈ 0.20 V is associated with chromophore groups absorbing at ca.…”

“…Consequently, the extent of conjugation diminished. 24 The p-polaron transition wavelength of PANI salt prepared at the aniline/b-CD molar ratio of 80/20 shifted to longer wavelength compared with that of aniline/b-CD molar ratio of 100/0. The red shift implied that b-CD as an encapsule during polymerization would lead to enhanced coplanar characteristic of the PANI backbone, and that there existed interaction between PANI chains and b-CD, which made the energy gap of p-polaron narrower.…”

“…[1][2][3][4][5] Among the known conducting polymers, polyaniline (PANI) has been extensively studied due to its unique electrochemical and physicochemical behaviour, good environmental stability and relatively easy preparation. 6,7 However, polyaniline is inherently brittle and poor in processability due to its insolubility in common organic solvents. 8,9 To improve its processability, various procedures have been adapted.…”
