Incorporation and voltammetric determination of silver (I) at an electrode electrochemically modified with a poly-benzidine film

Show more

“…[8] The benzidine rearrangement was a "cause celebre" in organic chemistry for many years. Initial hypotheses for the mechanism were put forward in the 1930s and 1940s, and an extraordinarily large amount of work as been devoted to these rearrangements both with hydrazobenzene and different aromatic hydrazo compounds.…”

“…The voltammetric analysis of ionic silver in bulk aqueous samples has been extensively studied, especially for low concentrations. [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9] The methods include preconcentration of silver at carbon-based electrodes using silver complexing agents [2][3][4][5][6][7][8] and polymer films. [7][8][9] The objective of the work reported here was to design measurement strategies that would permit the direct (i.e.…”

[7][8][9] The objective of the work reported here was to design measurement strategies that would permit the direct (i.e. undiluted sample) determination of ionic silver over the wide concentration range required in the photographic industry.…”

“…This fouling of Pt electrodes (the same behavior was not evidenced on GC or C‐SPE) is probably due to the adsorption of the products of the reaction of polymerization of benzidine, which occurs in such experimental conditions 41. In order to protect Pt‐SPE from fouling, they were covered with a thin layer of Nafion membrane 38, 40.…”
