Cooperation and competition among design students: recommendations to the teacher based on the Prisoner's Dilemma game
Abstract
Teamwork is essential to the designer performance in the current context that is why it is a practice during undergraduate period. In order to have a satisfactory teamwork, it is necessary that each team member cooperates with his/her peers. However, cooperation is not always stimulated by the professor, mainly in projects' disciplines. One way to address the cooperation/competition dyad is through the Prisoner's Dilemma game. This approach that is slightly used in the design field was used by Shih, Hu and Chen (2006)
