In this article we present a theoretical and methodological discussion for the study of career in the perspective of symbolic interactionism. A possible approach in this scope leads us to what can be termed as an outsider career. The outsider career consists of a concept developed by Becker¹ (2008), from which the individual is considered by the other members of society an "outsider" person for having an unconventional behavior. In this way, this approach to career study considers the individual's social context, their interactions, their characteristics and the process of labeling. The use of symbolic interactionism for the analysis of the outsider career implies their own theoretical and methodological perspective, opening up possibilities for new research with an interdisciplinary look, focused on the social context, considering all the social actors involved in the outsider career. Uma possível abordagem neste âmbito conduz-nos ao que pode designar-se por carreira outsider. A carreira outsider consiste em um conceito desenvolvido por Becker (2008), a partir do qual o indivíduo é considerado pelos demais membros da sociedade um outsider -uma pessoa "de fora" -por ter um comportamento não convencional. Desta forma, essa abordagem para o estudo de carreira considera o contexto social do indivíduo, suas interações, suas características e o processo de rotulação. O recurso ao interacionismo simbólico para a análise da carreira outsider nos implica numa perspectiva teórica e metodológica próprias, nos abrindo possibilidades de novas pesquisas com um olhar interdisciplinar, voltadas para o contexto social, considerando todos os atores sociais envolvidos na carreira outsider. RESUMOA etnometodologia, corrente sociológica que procura descobrir os "métodos" que as pessoas usam na vida cotidiana a fim de construir a realidade social, traz importantes contribuições teórico-epistemológicas para o estudo do jornalismo impresso e, especificamente, para a análise do colunismo social. Este trabalho objetiva elucidar essas contribuições, bem como resgatar o pensamento etnometodológico.Palavras-chave: Coluna social; Etnometodologia; Jornalismo impresso. ABSTRACTThe ethnomethodology, sociological current that seeks to discover the "methods" that people use in their daily lives in order to construct social reality, has important theoretical and epistemological contributions to the study of print journalism and specifically for the analysis of social columns. This work aims to elucidate these contributions and thinking ethnomethodological rescue.

O artigo analisa as ações afirmativas dos Partidos Piratas a fim de compreender como o seu discurso se move na tentativa de reordenar o olhar e os sentidos normativos acerca da pirataria para, desta forma, fortalecerem as suas teses e afirmarem uma nova identidade política. Ainda no campo analítico, o texto demonstra a conversão criativa que realizaram ao apoiarem-se, de modo homônimo, na desconstrução de uma categoria social admitida, historicamente, como marcador arbitrário. Argumenta-se que a ação inicial dos piratas utiliza a acusação como recurso operatório, transformando-a em benefício publicitário para a ação política que promovem. A análise, de cariz qualitativa, foi baseada em documentos oficiais, no material de propaganda e em entrevistas realizadas com membros da Alemanha, Brasil, Portugal e Suécia.
