On the estimation of robust stability regions for nonlinear systems with saturation

Abstract: This paper addresses the problem of determining robust stability regions for a class of nonlinear systems with time-invariant uncertainties subject to actuator saturation. The unforced nonlinear system is represented by differential-algebraic equations where the system matrices are allowed to be rational functions of the state and uncertain parameters, and the saturation nonlinearity is modelled by a sector bound condition. For this class of systems, local stability conditions in terms of linear matrix inequal… Show more

“…As pointed in [17], considering deadzone nonlinearities, the relation (19) can be viewed as a generalized sector condition which encompasses the classical one used, for instance in [1], [2] and [25], reducing therefore conservatism in stability conditions.…”

“…According to the best knowledge of the authors, there are no similar works available in the control literature that provides a methodology to estimate the domain of attraction of uncertain nonlinear systems subjected to a SFL control based on the LMI framework. Although, similar approaches dealing with saturating control laws such as (Silva Jr et al, 2004;Coutinho et al, 2004;Coutinho and Silva Jr, 2007) can be extended to cope with this problem.…”
