Abstract: cirúrgico da coarctação do arco aórtico em adulto: avaliação clínica e angiográfica tardia da técnica extra-anatômica. Rev Bras Cir Cardiovasc 2001; 16(3): 187-94. “…In the group of Wong et al [6], the three patients who were operated with ECC had clamping time from 35 to 49 min. In our study, the clamping time was longer, but a similar study using extraanatomic technique with conventional ECC [20]. Another benefit noted was the well-being provided in the correction of aortic surgical complications, because the surgeon has the concept that distal perfusion may help to minimize the time of spinal cord ischemia.…”

“…Lisboa et al [11] also reported the absence of neurological complications with extra-anatomical techniques. In our series, there were no complications such as ventricular dysfunction or arrhythmias in the postoperative period, being observed the presence of left ventricular hypertrophy, as found previously described in all patients in the preoperative period by the echocardiogram.…”

“…Several surgical techniques have been used in the correction of aortic coarctation in adults, such as resection and performance of end-to-end anastomosis, interposition of synthetic tubes or enlargement of the coarctate zone with varied patches [7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14].…”
