RESUMO O artigo explora e discute as análises do “Manifesto para não ser lido”, texto inaugural da revista Joaquim, criada pelo escritor curitibano Dalton Trevisan em 1946. Desde o seu surgimento, a revista é vinculada pela crítica literária à herança da vanguarda modernista que tem como referência a Semana de 1922. Embora também seja vinculado a essa tradição, o conjunto das evidências analisadas sobre o Manifesto possibilita associar Erasmo Pilotto, o responsável por sua elaboração, ao modernismo de tradição simbolista. As divergências entre os membros da revista, em relação à continuidade ou à ruptura com a tradição, oferecem uma perspectiva privilegiada sobre os debates travados acerca do lugar que Curitiba ocupou no cenário modernista brasileiro.
