The remaining portion of Atlantic Forest in the state of Rio de Janeiro constitutes a strategic challenge in the conservation of the biome, by concentrating high richness and endemism of species that are distributed in distinct vegetative fragments covering the mountainous regions. In the state, the genus Pleroma presents a high diversity, currently 45 species, of which 14 are endemic and several of these have knowledge gaps. This paper aims to document rediscoveries in the Três Picos State Park of two species of Pleroma that had not been collected for 69 and 100 years respectively. These discoveries resulted from the actions of the National Center for Plant Conservation, a division of the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden. Updated descriptions, geographic information and distribution maps, and cited collections for these two species of Pleroma are presented here together with an assessment of their current conservation status. Based on IUCN criteria, we recommend a classification of Critically Endangered (CR) and Endangered (EN) for Pleroma virgatum and P. elegans, respectively.

RESUMO -Neste estudo é apresentada a composição e similaridade florística de espécies vasculares sinantrópicas em uma área periurbana antropizada, no município de João Pessoa, Estado da Paraíba, e sua relação com outras floras sinantrópicas. Foram encontradas 98 espécies, em 75 gêneros e 30 famílias. Entre as espécies, 41,84% são cosmopolitas; 29,6%, pantropicais; 13,3% ocorrem apenas no cone sul da América; 8,2%, neotropicais; 5,1%, gondwânicas; e 2% ocorrem em toda a América. Asteraceae e Poaceae foram as famílias mais representativas em número de espécies. Os resultados foram comparados com os de outros levantamentos florísticos correlatos, utilizando o índice de similaridade de Sörensen, e observou-se que não é somente a proximidade geográfica entre os locais estudados que reflete uma maior similaridade florística entre as áreas, e sim a amplitude dos táxons e a presença de micro-habitat semelhante. RESUMOAtualmente, muito tem se discutido sobre a importância de recuperação de áreas com vegetação nativa, visto o aumento crescente da destruição de ecossistemas em todas as regiões do Brasil. No tocante ao assunto, uma grande dificuldade dos pesquisadores está nos métodos disponíveis para o controle inicial de espécies exóticas invasoras, que competem com as essências nativas dificultando seu crescimento e desenvolvimento, sendo na maioria dos projetos a etapa mais onerosa e difícil de superar. Diante do exposto, este trabalho identificou as espécies invasoras presentes em uma área durante processo inicial de recuperação da vegetação nativa. Foram identificadas onze espécies distribuídas em sete famílias botânicas, as quais são comumente encontradas como plantas oportunistas em áreas cultivadas, mostrando a necessidade de maiores pesquisas para avaliar seus efeitos reais na competição com as espécies nativas em fase inicial de desenvolvimento. ABSTRACTCurrently, much has been discussed about the importance of recovery of native vegetation areas, since the increasing destruction of ecosystems in all regions of Brazil. Regarding the subject, a great difficulty of researchers is in the methods available for the initial control of invasive exotic species that compete with native species hindering their growth and development, with most projects, the most costly and difficult to overcome stage. Given the above, this work has identified invasive species present in an area during the initial process of recovery of native vegetation. Eleven species distributed in seven plant families were identified, which are commonly found as opportunistic plants in cultivated areas, showing the need for further research to assess their actual effects on competition with native species in early stage of development.

Abstract: São apresentadas as plantas daninhas ocorrentes no Município de Petrópolis, recolhidas em 14 estações de coleta, das 60 programadas. Foram cadastradas cerca de 152 espécies, pertencentes a 104 gêneros e 46 famílias.
