“…The revision of Richeria Vahl (Secco & Webster 1990) invalidated the varieties proposed previously for R. grandis Vahl, as well as updated the synonymy. Patterns of geographic distribution of some Crotonoideae in the Amazon were presented by Secco (1990b;1993a), who assessed mainly Pausandra species and started a study on Croton species that occur in the Brazilian Amazon. In his study, he described some liana species, comparing them with C. pullei Lanj., whose palynological aspects continued to be discussed by Carreira et al (1996).…”

“…Euphorbiaceae is one of the most expressive flora families in the Brazilian Amazon (BFG 2015). Ricardo Secco's studies of this family have stood out since the eighties (Secco 1987, 1990Costa et al 2018;among others). Such studies found that the Amazon constitutes a diversity center of many genera Secco 2011, 2012;Souza and Secco 2014), some of which are endemic (e.g., Micrandropsis W.A.…”

“…Adolpho Ducke e Walter Egler, com contribuições de Murça Pires e William Rodrigues (SECCO et al, 2012). Secco (1990) ressalta a necessidade de cautela ao se apontar endemismos, espécies raras ou mesmo subespécies e variedades para a Amazônia, pois esta região carece de programas de coleta mais amplos, principalmente em áreas de difícil acesso.…”
