As práticas culturais utilizadas, BORTOLI SA; VACARI AM; GOULART RM; SANTOS RF; VOLPE HXL; FERRAUDO AS. 2011. Capacidade reprodutiva e preferência da traça-dascrucífera… Show more

“…The diamondback moth Plutella xylostella (L.) (Lepidoptera: Plutellidae) is considered the main pest affecting brassica in all producing countries. This moth has high reproductive capacity and rapid selection for resistance to insecticides, resulting in dramatic crop productivity losses and significantly increased control costs (De Bortoli et al, 2011;Zalucki et al, 2012). Biological control is indicated as an emergent and efficient alternative for reducing insect pest infestations.…”

“…DBM infestation accounts for management costs and production losses of US$ 4-5 billion (Zalucki et al 2012). In Brazil, this pest attacks mainly the most cultivated brassicas, that is, cabbage and kale (Castelo Branco et al 2003;Silva-Torres et al 2010;De Bortoli et al 2011b), but will fed on all brassicas.…”

“…The diamondback moth, Plutella xylostella (L.) (Lepidoptera: Plutellidae), is a major pest of crucifers growing in the tropical areas of the world (Dickson et al, 1990) and its population may increase up to 60-fold from one generation to another (De Bortoli et al, 2011a). The successive and frequent use of insecticides to control the diamondback moth has selected for resistant populations of this species (Castelo Branco & Gatehouse, 2001), so an alternative control is needed, such as the use of entomophagous insects.…”
