Show more

“…Lower heritability values for internode length and mean FFT were observed by Srikanth, Bharad, Thulasiram, and Potduke (2017) using 23 pumpkin genotypes. In contrast, close heritability values for NF and FFT were found in a study of pumpkin lines (Bezerra Neto et al., 2006) and for total seed mass in seven pumpkin genotypes (Blank et al, 2013).…”

“…It was found high heritability values also for the characteristics average fruit weight, external longitudinal length and thickness of the pulp, all above 70% [22]. Some scientific paper found high heritability for some characteristics that match the high levels of C. maxima of this Cucurbita study (cultivars, a hybrid and an improved genotype) [23].…”

“…In the pumpkin selection process, progenies are considered to have agronomic characteristics, mainly: precocity of the cycle, growth habit, productivity, resistance to pests and diseases, aspects of fruits such as color, firmness, shape in addition to the levels of carotenoids (BEZERRA NETO et al, 2006;BLANK et al, 2013;FERREIRA et al, 2016;SILVA, 2016;BORGES et al, 2019).…”
