Show more

“…Previously, several resistance studies have been done due to the spatial dependence of T. absoluta. For example, in Brazil, the use of pyrethroid and organophosphorus compounds was suggested to be avoided due to the high resistance ratio of T. absoluta to those compounds (Branco et al, 2001). Deltamethrin was found the least toxic to T. absoluta while mevinphos was found as the most toxic compound in Africa and Chile (Salazar & Araya, 2001).…”

“…When compared with the recommended field rate, very low toxicity levels were detected. Pyrethroid toxicity has been extensively investigated in both South American and European countries . Haddi et al .…”

“…Pyrethroid toxicity has been extensively investigated in both South American and European countries. 3,6,35,37 Haddi et al 37 demonstrated that pyrethroid resistance in T.absoluta is associated with the presence of mutation in the IIS4-IIS6 region of the para gene of the sodium channel. The detoxification mechanisms also play a key role in resistance to pyrethroids, 20 but their involvement in T. absoluta has not been investigated as yet.…”

“…Its control is difficult because of its fast capacity of migration, easy adaptation to the environment, high fecundity and short life cycle, which provides a rapid increase in its resistance to chemical insecticides (CASTELO BRANCO et al, 2001).…”
