Simultaneous exact control of piezoelectric systems in multilayered media

Abstract: Abstract. This paper considers a pair of transmission problems for the system of piezoelectricity having piecewise constant coefficients. Under suitable monotonicity conditions on the coefficients and certain geometric conditions on the domain and the interfaces where the coefficients have a jump discontinuity, results on simultaneous boundary observation and simultaneous exact control are established.Mathematical subject classification: 35L50; 35Q60; 35B40.

“…We can mention the work of B. Kapitonov [3][4][5], B. Kapitonov and M.A. Raupp [6] and F. Khodja and A. Bader [10] among many others. In our previous work (B. Kapitonov, B. Miara and G. Perla Menzala, [7] and [8]) we considered the stabilization problem of a layered piezoelectric 3-D body by boundary dissipation and in [7] we obtained a boundary observation inequality in order to study the exact controllability problem of a quasielectrostatic piezoelectric system.…”
