Cianobactérias marinhas bentônicas de ilhas costeiras do Estado de São Paulo, Brasil

Abstract: -(Marine benthic cyanobacteria of coastal islands, São Paulo State, Brazil). Marine benthic Cyanobacteria have always been neglected by taxonomic surveys of the Brazilian coast, exception made for some works focusing the shore of the São Paulo State. For island habitats there is only one study carried out for the Cardoso Island. Therefore, the aim of this study is to improve the knowledge about the richness of cyanobacterial species in marine benthic communities from coastal islands of the São Paulo State. The… Show more

“…Our populations are epilithic on granitic rock, as were those of the first report for the Mexican coast (León-Tejera et al 2005). Similar populations were also described from Brazil in Sant' Anna et al (1985) and Crispino & Sant'Anna (2006) for the supratidal fringe and Montoya (2003) for three Peruvian sites of the supra and intertidal fringes. It is important that the Mexican populations of K. cf.…”

“…This taxon was reported occurring in Brazil in marine and brackish water environments (Sant'Anna et al 1985, Branco et al 1997, Crispino & Sant'Anna 2006, but these identifications probably do not correspond to this species due to the habitat occupied. This taxon probably represents a speciescomplex, and a taxonomic review will be necessary to clarify its morphological and ecological distinctions.…”

“…A partir des dessins faits à main levée, de la description basée sur les caractères morphologiques et des mesures de dimensions, une identification des taxa a été faite en comparant nos données à certains travaux comme ceux de Naskar et al (2008), Crispino et Sant'Anna (2006), Nogueira et al (2001), Da Rodda et Parodi (2005, BerardTherriault et al (1999), Silva et al (1996), Abbott et al (1992), D'hont et Coppejan (1988) et Park et Dixon (1964). …”
