Abstract: OBJETIVO: Relatar a capacidade clínica e radiográfica de integração de enxertos ósseos liofilizados bovinos. Show more

“…As reported by Rosito 17 (2006), the freeze-drying process may cause damage to the properties of the bone, especially to resistance. However, other studies using freeze-dried and frozen human and bovine bone grafts in acetabular reconstruction of patients found that the resistance property of these grafts was similar.…”

“…With the application of compression tests, one can evaluate the resistance of freeze-dried bone and observe whether the mechanical properties are not altered. 17 Another study on freeze-dried bone showed a weakening of the grafts after the tests. 18 Resistance to torque was also applied to freeze-dried bones, showing an alarming loss of 88% of the original resistance.…”
