Abstract:A despeito da controvérsia existente na literatura com relação aos benefícios da linfadenectomia na sobrevida dos doentes submetidos a ressecções curativas para tratamento do adenocarcinoma gástrico, é inegável que a linfadenectomia ampliada (nível II na classificação japonesa) contribui para o melhor estadiamento e prognóstico destes pacientes.
