Determination of Hg in water by CVAAS using 2-aminothiazole modified silica

Abstract: This paper discusses a rapid and sensitive method developed to determine trace levels of mercury in natural water samples by cold vapor atomic absorption spectrometry using a preconcentration system composed by mini-column packed with 100 mg of 2-aminothiazol modified silica gel (SiAT) coupled on-line with the spectrometer's cold vapor generator system. The optimum preconcentration conditions are also described here. The preconcentrated Hg(II) ions were eluted directly from the column to the spectrometer's col… Show more

“…In addition, soil pH also plays a significant role in the AMF community by altering the diversity of AMF (Kawahara et al, 2016, Vilcatoma-Medina et al, 2018 probably by changes in availability of Al, Fe and Mn. Excess of these elements also changes the AMF community favoring the adapted AMF in the region (Silva et al, 2005). Therefore, the patterns of AMF diversity in a forest ecosystem are defined by the combination of host identity and environmental conditions where the host grows.…”

“…Nowadays, the most employed method for Hg determination in different matrices, such as biological tissues, water, sediments, blood, and foods, is CV-AAS, because it is a very sensitive and relatively low cost. , This technique is based on the chemical reduction of mercury to elemental Hg, followed by measurement of mercury vapor absorption at 253.7 nm. , …”

“…Then 6 mL of 1 mol L −1 of K 2 S 2 O 8 was added and heated for 30 min. The digested fish sample was cooled at room temperature [28,29]. Appropriate amounts of 2 mol L −1 NaOH was added to neutralize the excess of HNO 3 and then 4 mL of the citrate-citric acid buffer solution (pH 2.5) was added to adjust the pH at the optimized value.…”
