Aplicação de Zr/Ti-PILC no processo de adsorção de Cu(II), Co(II) e Ni(II) utilizando modelos físico-químicos de adsorção e termodinâmica do processo

Abstract: Recebido em 26/6/07; aceito em 10/8/07; publicado na web em 26/2/08 APPLICATION OF Zr/Ti-PILC IN THE ADSORPTION PROCESS OF Cu(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) USING ADSORPTION PHYSICO-CHEMICAL MODELS AND THERMODINAMICS OF THE PROCESS. The aim of this investigation is to study how Zr/Ti-PILC adsorbs metals. The physico-chemical proprieties of Zr/Ti-PILC have been optimized with pillarization processes and Cu(II), Ni(II) and Co(II) adsorption from aqueous solution has been carried out, with maximum adsorption values of 8.… Show more

“…An anthropogenic source for Cd concentrations in the water streams is the improper disposal of equipment such as batteries (Martin and Griswold, 2009). In order to identify a mineral source for the Cd and Rh concentrations in the water streams, it can be added that both Cd and Rh behave similar to Al, K, Ca, and Mg. Cd and Rh can replace the elements in the aluminosilicates, even though they have a larger atomic weight they can be 12 Cristiane Heredia Gomes et al adsorbed on clay minerals, kaolinite and smectite type (Caldarone et al, 1994;Guerra et al, 2008). However, in Figure 5 it may be observed that the highest Cd concentrations are close to or in the direction of the flow of the stream from the Lavras do Sul urban center, which suggests an anthropic influence.…”

“…O valor positivo de ΔG, obtido neste experimento, indica que a forma adsorvida é menos estável que aquela em solução. A variação positiva da entropia indica a afinidade entre adsorvato e a solução do adsorvente (processo não -espontâneo) [35].…”

“…Both the European Community and the United States specify the current maximum concentration limit for arsenic in water intended for human consumption, to 10 ppb [6,7]. Successful removal of arsenic ions from aqueous solutions using nonspecific and specific solid adsorbents has been fully demonstrated, such as silica, zeolites and organofunctionalized and pillared clays [8][9][10][11].…”
