“…[3][4][5][6] Studies conducted in some Brazilian urban centers have identified a high concentration of inhalable particulate matter (hereinafter referred to as PM10), which surpasses the limits set by the Brazilian national legislation on air quality: a daily mean concentration limit of 150 µg m −3 and an annual mean of 50 µg m −3 . 3,7,8 As the impacts of PM10 on human health 9 and ecosystems 10 depend strongly on the chemical composition and size distribution of these particles, studies should be conducted to determine the physicochemical characteristics of atmospheric particulate matter in diverse urban environments.…”
