Efeito da substituição por átomos de flúor no equilíbrio conformacional de chalcona

Abstract: Recebido em 30/5/00; aceito em 9/2/01 EFFECT OF FLUORINE ATOM SUBSTITUTION ON THE CONFORMATIONAL EQUILIBRIUM OF CHALCONE. Chalcone (1) and its fluorinated derivatives 2-4, as well as their cyclic analogues 5-10, were synthesized through an aldol condensation reaction between the corresponding ketone and aldehyde. “…Esse efeito, diferente das demais chalconas estudadas, pode ser justificado por uma mudança no seu equilíbrio conformacional, uma vez que 12 apresenta uma maior percentagem do confôrmero s-trans em solução quando comparado a 1. Isto é conseqüência da menor coplanaridade do grupo benzoílico Ar-C=O com o grupo estirila restante da molécula, ou seja CH=CH-Ph 29 . Esse arranjo de menor coplanaridade pode estar dificultando o empacotamento molecular necessário à reação de fotodimerização no estado cristalino de 12 e, conseqüentemente, acarretando uma diminuição em sua reatividade.…”
