Show more

“…Figure 3 show that the highest fruit production resulted when the boron concentration in soil was 0.6mgdm -3 and 23.5 mg kg -1 in leaves. If one considers 95% of this maximum production the value would be 2,1 kg.ha -1 , quite close to the dosage of 2 kg ha -1 recommended by Teixeira et al (2005) for soils with boron levels lower than 0,2 mg Literature data confirm the beneficial effects of boron to coconut palm tree cultures. Santos et al (2003) reported the positive effects of the micronutrient applied to the leaf axillae.…”

“…General recommendations for the application of boron to coconut plants are that young plants should receive 30 g of borax applied to the 4 th leaf axilla. For producing plants, it is recommended that the micronutrient should be applied directly into the soil -in a dosage of 2 kg ha -1 of B as borax (Sobral, 1997) when analysis indicates levels lower than 0.2 mg dm -3 (hot water) (Teixeira et al 2005). The application of boron directly into the soil is more efficient than foliar techniques due to the low mobility it shows in plant tissues.…”

“…The lowest P dose of fertilization recommended in the present study indicates a specific recommendation for the coconut crop under the edaphoclimatic conditions of the municipality of Moju, compared to the recommendation for the state of Pará (LINS and VIEGAS, 2020). In São Paulo State, 120 kg/ha of P 2 O 5 (P resin < 13 mg/dm 3 ) are recommended for an expected yield above 30 t/ha (TEIXEIRA et al, 2005b).…”

“…In the state of Pará, for 160 plants/ha, the recommendation is to apply 192 kg/ha/year of K 2 O for coconut plants with leaf K concentrations between 11 and 12 g kg -1 (LINS and VIEGAS, 2020). In turn, in São Paulo State, it is recommended 300 kg/ha/year of K 2 O (exchangeable K + < 1.6 mmol c /dm 3 ) (TEIXEIRA et al, 2005b).…”
