Foliar spraying with bacterial biocontrol agents for the control of common bacterial blight of bean

Abstract: The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of foliar spraying with bacterial biocontrol agents (BBAs) on the control of common bacterial blight (CBB) of bean, and on the induction of systemic resistance in bean plants. CBB control by BBAs was evaluated by spraying bean leaves 48 and 24 hours before and after pathogen inoculation (BPI and API, respectively), with: DFs93, Bacillus cereus; DFs513, Pseudomonas veronii; DFs769, B. cereus; the C01 combination, DFs93 + DFs769 + DFs831 (Pseudomonas fluoresc… Show more

“…This indicates that the biopriming of the soybean seeds with rhizobacteria was effective for the elimination of the apparent symptoms of the disease. Bacteria associated with plant roots have been shown to have potential for the control of a number of diseases the affect agricultural crops e.g., [61][62][63][64][65]. The bacteria of the genera Enterobacter and Bacillus, in particular, have attracted considerable attention as the most promising candidates for biocontrol agents of the rhizophere and endorhiza of crop plants [66,67].…”

“…Dentre os agentes bióticos descritos como produtores de substâncias elicitoras de fitoalexinas estão fungos do gênero Trichoderma (BENÍTEZ et al, 2004) e bactérias do gênero Bacillus (SANGIOGO et al, 2018). O presente projeto objetiva a verificação do potencial de utilização de isolados fúngicos e bacterianos de microrganismos para indução de fitoalexinas em soja.…”
