The superiority of Paranagoiana regarding number of days to flowering in relation to its ancestral genotype Paraná is conditioned by its largest juvenile period, the result of a genic mutation controlled by a recessive allele, as studied by Bonato and Vello (1999). The Bragg and BR 27 (Cariri) cultivars showed the effective gains in late flowering occurred with BR 27 (Cariri), although it was originated by Bragg by backcrossing, and the Bragg showed classical behavior in relation to photoperiod.…”
