“…Magno (1987) commented that P. metallicum is similar to Periboeum latericium (currently, synonym of P. piliferum) by the pronotum with small tubercles, wrinkles between tubercles and the elongated elytral spines. According to Magno (1987), besides the metallic coloration, the sub-cylindrical scape of P. metallicum differs from P. piliferum (more widened towards apex). Martins (2005) compared P. metallicum with P. dilectum, but he did not mention the similar characteristics between them.…”
