“…The most common method was surveys ( n = 17; 81%), followed by clinical trials ( n = 3; 14%), and interview ( n = 1; 5%). Specifically, five papers included participants living in residential aged care facilities (RACF) (Chang et al, 2013; Fu et al, 2018; Kahe et al, 2018; Kulakçi & Emiroğlu, 2013; Toledano‐González et al, 2019); three papers used a combination of healthy community members and residents living in RACF (Cybulski et al, 2017; Kostka & Jachimowicz, 2010; Lara et al, 2020); eight papers included participants from the general community (Cha et al, 2012; Da Silva & Lautert, 2010; Doba et al, 2016; Kim & Yu, 2010; O'Shea et al, 2016; O'Shea et al, 2017; Qin et al, 2020; Sharma & Sharma, 2013); four papers specifically included participants that had one or more chronic illness (Hourzad et al, 2018; Schulz et al, 2015; Schüz et al, 2012; Warner, Ziegelmann, Schüz, Wurm, Tesch‐Römer, et al, 2011) and one paper only included older females from the general community (Yeom, 2014). The diversity between the populations in the included papers regarding participants’ level of functionality and health status required special consideration when interpreting the data.…”
