On the species described by Szidat in 1954 in the genus Saccocoelioides (Digenea: Haploporidae)

Abstract: New morphological data, original measurements and figures of syntypes of the species of Saccocoelioides described by Szidat in 1954 are presented: S. nanii, S. elongatus, S. magniovatus, S. magnus, S. quintus (=S.sp. 5) ans S. szidati (=S.sp.6). Two speciments of S. elongatus are identified to S. nanii, S. leporinodus is considered a synonym of S. saccodontis and S. quintus is regarded as "species inquirenda".
São apresentadas medidas e figuras originais de sintipos das espécies do gênero Saccocoelioides de…

“…As molecular evidence indicated, the haploporid cercariae collected from H. parchappii in Los Padres shallow lake were 100% identical to adult specimens of S. nanii reported by Curran et al (2018) in the fish P. lineatus from Los Talas (Buenos Aires province, Argentina). Lunaschi, 1984, and Saccocoelioides kirchneri Martorelli et al, 2022(Kohn 1985Lunaschi 1996;Kohn et al 2007;Curran et al 2018).…”

“…They also removed several species from Saccocoelioides to other genera of the new subfamily, or to other subfamilies of the Haploporidae, and retained in Saccocoelioides only those species with vitelline follicles surrounding the testes, an uterus extending throughout the hindbody and reaching to the forebody, having a short prepharynx, and eggs with or without occulate miracidia.
