Leishmania infections in Lutzomyia longipalpis (Diptera: Psychodidae) on the Island of Sao Luis, Maranhao State, Brazil

Abstract: Dissection of Lutzomyia longipalpis, captured in the São Luis focus of visceral Leishmaniasis revealed a 1.8% promastigote infection rate.
