Correlação da função diastólica com a capacidade máxima de exercício ao teste ergométrico

Abstract: Background: Increased pulmonary capillary pressure (PCP) is one of the mechanisms of exercise intolerance. Assessment of the diastolic function by echocardiography (ECHO) enables estimation of PCP.

“…Consequently, filling pressure increases and maximum capacity decreases; thus, as diastolic dysfunction progresses, the lower will become exercise capacity. 48,49 Early-life stress is also a relevant factor involved in metabolic programming. 7 Despite this, biometric, nutritional, and biochemical outcomes here described are similar to those observed in studies using pharmacological and non-pharmacological models of early weaning that avoid emotional stress.…”

“…For instance, hypertension is often associated with left ventricular hypertrophy and heart failure with preserved ejection fraction, that impair exercise tolerance, outcomes described in this study. 48,49,53,54 Literature report that adaptation mechanisms may be different between sexes in early weaning models. 7 Nevertheless, our main objective was to describe outcomes in male rats submitted to an early weaning model encompassing an emotional stress, as widely performed with pharmacological and non-pharmacological models.…”

“…Several studies that sought to compare functional capacity with ventricular filling patterns in patients with HFPEF correlating them to finding of healthy individuals converged their theoretical reference in the pursuit of understanding exercise intolerance 32 - 35 . In the present study, the population samples show important differences in CPET variables and LV filling parameters as assessed by Echo, and this requires considerations on the different mechanisms of exercise intolerance in patients with HFPEF.…”
