Associação de betabloqueadores e treinamento físico na insuficiência cardíaca de camundongos

Abstract: Background: Currently there are several types of interventions for the treatment of heart failure (HF). Among these are beta-blocker therapy (BB) and physical training (PT). However, the effects of the combination of these therapies are poorly studied.

“…Thus, leucine supplementation deserves to be further investigated as a promising strategy to be used in combination with AET, since it attenuates exercise intolerance, one of the symptoms that most affect the quality of life in CHF patients, also being associated with reduced survival [ 41 ]. This is of particular interest, since current pharmacological therapy based on β-blockers and renin-angiotensin system inhibitors has little impact on exercise tolerance [ 21 , 22 ].…”

“…Heart rate (HR) was determined noninvasively with a computerized tail-cuff system (BP2000 Visitech Systems, Apex, NC, USA) [ 21 ]. Mice were acclimatized to the apparatus during daily sessions over 6 days, 1 week before the experimental period started.…”

“…In a genetic model of HF based on disruption of α 2A /α 2C -adrenergic receptors from mouse genome, we have previously observed that the third generation β–blocker, carvedilol, has no impact on exercise capacity but display an anti-cardiac remodeling effect and improves cardiac contractility [9], [10], which is independent of changes in isolated cardiac myocyte Ca 2+ transients [9]. Accumulated evidence shows that aerobic exercise training is also an important strategy for the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases [11], besides being an efficient adjuvant therapy for HF.…”
