“…A seasonal pattern for idiopathic pericarditis has been reported in a small group of patients in Brazil, but this finding has not been confirmed or extended to other parts of the world. Furthermore, the pathophysiological mechanism underlying the recurrence of acute idiopathic pericarditis, reported in approximately 25% of patients, is still unclear; viral reinfection as well as immune‐related factors may be responsible .…”

“…The diagnosis of acute pericarditis was based, as recommended by current guidelines, on the presence of at least 2 of the following 4 criteria: typical pleuritic chest pain, characteristic electrocardiographic changes, pericardial friction rub, and new or worsening pericardial effusion . The criteria for the diagnosis of a recurrent episode of pericarditis included a documented first attack of acute pericarditis, a symptom‐free interval of 6 weeks or longer, patient complaints of recurrent pain, and 1 or more of the following signs: pericardial friction rub, electrocardiographic changes suggestive of pericarditis, imaging evidence of new or worsening pericardial effusion, and an elevation in C‐reactive protein level or erythrocyte sedimentation rate …”

“…The patients, mostly elderly and individuals with compensated diseases, showed viral symptoms, increased incidence in the peri-immunization period and resolution of the clinical draw with anti-inflammatory drug use 3 . Post-vaccination myopericarditis has been reported and may be underdiagnosed and sub-notified 4,5 .…”
