Background: A mycotic infection can result in a variety of human disorders. They are widespread around the world, but are more common in tropical nations like India where the temperature and humidity are more conducive to their persistence and activity. Purpose: The present study were determines the incidence of tinea infections and their dermatophytes in Wasit Province, Iraq. Result: A total 125 scraping samples with dermatophytes infections collected. About 50\125(40%) were infected with Tinea corporis. Among them, which three species were identified distribution to 26 cases were Trichophyton mentagrophytes with a percentage of 52%, was the most frequently isolated dermatophyte 12 cases were Trichophyton rubrum with a percentage 24%, and 12 cases were Microsporum canis with a percentage 24%. Conclusion: T. mentagrophytes reported as a high incidence in patients followed by Tinea corporis.

A 72-year-old man with a history of blastoid variant stage IV relapsed refractory mantle cell lymphoma presented with new central nervous system (CNS) symptoms. Brain imaging was positive for rim-enhancing lesions along with a mitral valve mass on the echocardiogram. It was a challenge to establish the exact aetiology of these lesions in this patient. He was empirically treated with chemotherapy on the presumption that the brain lesions were secondary to progressive malignancy. However, brain biopsy was negative for malignancy and blood cultures were found positive for Nocardia kroppenstedtii sp nov. He subsequently improved with antibiotic therapy. Disseminated Nocardia can present with multiorgan involvement. Clinical and microbiological diagnosis can be challenging. Antimicrobial treatment-related side effects require close monitoring, and dosage changes or therapy adjustments may be necessary.

Detection of LAP1 and LAP2 genes from Trichophyton rubrum

Samples of hair, nails and skin were collected, representing people of different ages and races. The number of isolated people gathered between October 2021 and February 2022 from Al-Hussein Teaching Hospital and a private clinic under the supervision of doctors(118) species was examined. Dermatophytes were found in 80 of them; among the 80 positive Trichophyton rubrum species, 30 were produced, which represents less than half of the dermatophytes for each of the 80 positive species (14 cutaneous, nine hair and seven nail isolates)the study's findings included hair hole testing, which came back negative, and urea degradation testing. The results were either negative or inconsistent across the isolates; the growth test in the PDA was positive, the virulence factors that enable the fungus to penetrate host tissues were studied during leucine aminopeptidase (LAP1) and (LAP2), it was observed that there were no significant differences in gene isolates of T. rubrum.
