Abstract: o processo social pode assumir tríplice aspecto: cooperação, competição e conflito. Na cooperação os indivíduos desempenham funções idênticas, tendo em vista um objetivo comum; na competição, os indivíduos concorrem entre si, com o objetivo de obter vantagem de terceiros; no conflito, os indivíduos estão em antagonismo, uns em relação aos outros.
