“…The aim of this study was to investigate the association between the G22A polymorphism of the ADA gene in Brazilian women with a history of RSA. Because much of the Brazilian population has a clear European ancestry, 12 we postulated that the ADA G22A genetic polymorphism might be associated with RSA in Brazilian women. The series of this study is representative of the population of the northwestern region of São Paulo State, which is chiefly composed of Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, and African descendants.…”

The aim of this study was to investigate whether the ADA G22A polymorphism is associated with RSA in Brazilian women.…”

“…Scholars of History and International Relations have stressed, in Latin America and, in particular, in Brazil, the importance of the relationship between ethnic identity and foreign policy related to the Italian case (Cervo, 1991;Aledda, 2016;Bertonha, 1997;Di Santo, 2021;Bevilacqua, De Clementi, Franzina, 2001). Since the first years after the Risorgimento, in the second half of the 19th century, Italy had to manage an important migratory flow that was mainly directed towards Latin America.…”

“…With the rise of Fascism, a strengthening of this policy in relation to Latin American migratory spaces can be noticed. As Bertonha (1997) points out, the first years of the Duce's policy were characterised by Italian expansion through the economy and culture, in the construction of a Latin world culturally bound to Italy. Indeed, there will be no lack of actions by the Italian government: Nave Italia, for example, in 1924 will circumnavigate South America in a propaganda project of the regime and Italian power.…”

“…Concomitante a isso, o regime fascista aprofunda suas tendências imperialistas e totalitárias e reforça a ideia de um verdadeiro "Império italiano" no mundo. 64 Do lado brasileiro, a Revolução de 30 levou ao poder novos atores, sob o comando de Getúlio Dornelles Vargas. A política no Brasil toma outros rumos: moralização da vida pública, expansão das atividades urbanas, ampliação da economia assalariada, expansão das indústrias, reforço da segurança nacional.…”
