Necessidades em saúde: questões importantes para o trabalho da enfermagem

Abstract

The construction of new paradigms and practices in health and nursing, directed to an effective exercise of social rights is an actual challenge. The present study is a contribution to solve this challenge. Looking at nursing knowledge, authors reflect on a way of interpreting the needs in health. Based on a discussion about human needs and their relationship with the health work, they analyse them following the direction of Wanda de Aguiar Horta's theory. They emphasize the importance of human autonomy/selfvaluing and the interpretation of needs based on the consideration of people who receive and give health care and of the social context.

“…These are needs that, once met, guarantee or produce health, according to social and intersubjective parameters about what compose them. 1,7 Thus, the issue requires workers attention, on its mode of presentation in everyday life, the way they are apprehended or rejected and how to answer them, since, according to social interests, objective and subjective conditions many of them are hidden, restricted or denied, created and stimulated, and they are treated without taking into consideration the conditions that generate them, producing more or less health. 7 Currently, the approach on needs in the health sector care is in the context of the biomedical assistance model, and there are new construction projects, such as the SF that is nationally proposed for remodeling the primary care.…”

Enfermagem moderna: a ordem do cuidado

“…No prefácio, as autoras inventariam as ciências que estariam relacionadas com a enfermagem e explicam que o termo princípio "significa um fato científico que justifica os métodos em prática" (39) . O texto relembra recorrentemente a importância do método e da eficiência no trabalho da enfermeira, sendo que esta só será atingida se a "enfermeira compreender as razões em que se baseiam os métodos que usa" (40) . Sob o título Filosofia da Enfermagem, encontro o seguinte comentário:…”

“…Durante o curso, a escola deve proporcionar oportunidade para a observação e o desenvolvimento da habilidade da arte da enfermagem. Se a enfermeira compreender o porquê das coisas que faz, e se adquirir a habilidade e as atitudes adequadas à enfermagem, estará em condições de trabalhar com eficiência (40) .…”

“…Este processo, iniciado pelas enfermeiras norte-americanas, no final dos anos sessenta e na década de setenta do século passado, é relativamente recente na trajetória da enfermagem profissional. As teorias de enfermagem relacionam conceitos, proposições e princípios sobre a natureza da enfermagem, seu campo de ação e seus métodos de trabalho (40) . Elas foram a condição de possibilidade de produção de um discurso que coloca a enfermagem em igualdade de condições, como profissão autônoma, no rol das profissões da área de saúde.…”
