O estudo tem como objet ivo pri ncipal divulgar a tentativa de adaptar os princ l'p ios de re lacionamento terapêutico às questões espec íficas da real idade da assistência de enfermage m a pacientes psiquiátricos hospitalizados e às di ficuldades inerentes ao al.mo iniciante nesta área. Além da rev i são de literatura, o estudo traz o relato de um caso, assim como discorre sobre as dificuldades percebidas na vivência de se is anos de ensino; co ntém uma análise dos resultados e das lim itações do modelo e propõe medidas para tornar a intervenção de enfermagem mais efet iva para o pacie nte considerando o contexto sócio-econômico , pol ít ico e fam iliar de sua inte rnação .ABST R ACT. The authoress relate the teaching model of therapeutic re lation adapted in the discipline psychiatric nursing. The st udy has as main purpose to divulge the attem pt to fit questions of the reality of the nursing assistance to psychiatrics pat ients hospita li zed and difficulty inherents to the student in the beginning this field . Beyond the rev ision of the literature, the study brings the report of a case , as though it exsat iates on the diffi cu lty pe rce ived in the live liness of sex years of tech ing; it conta ins an analysis of the re sults and it proposes measures in order to beco me the nursing interventio n more actual fo r the patient considering the social-economical, po l itical and familiar context of his in ternment. INTRODUÇÃOHá várias dé cadas, a Psiquiatria vem passando por um processo de auto-crítica e conseqüentes tenta tivas de dinamização e humanização da assistência ao paciente . A enfermagem , enquanto profissão inserida neste setor , procura modernizar sua atuação . A enfer magem psiquiátrica vem, então, sendo obrigada a re pensar sua prática. A descoberta dos psicotrópicos, o advento das terapêuticas psicológicas e sócio-ambien tais colocaram-na numa situação em que suas habili dades tradicionais de vigilância, controle e outras pu ramente mecânicas ou técnicas tornaram-se insuficien tes ou desnecessárias . Percebe-se , entre as enfermeiras psiquiátricas , uma tendência crescente de seguir um modelo com bases psicossociais dando ênfase ao rela cionamento terapêutico e às ações comunitárias .Diversos autores nacionais e estrangeiros (ARANTES l , ARRUDA 2 , DANIE O , FUKUDA 4 , IRVING 5 , KYES & HOFLING6, ORGANIZAÇÃO MUNDIAL DE SA Ú DE 7 , STEFANELLI l 2 , TRA· VEtBEE 1 3 , têm-se preocupado em pesquisar e escre ve r sobre relacionamento terapêutico em enfermagem psiquiátrica.
