Abstract

ABSTRACT. This descriptive explanatory research ' proposes to search ! the performance of the persons who work at the I ntensive Therapy Unit, referring to the way they iden tify, diagnose and solve the problems related to the emotional assurance of the inward patient. The study comprehended twenty-eight hurses and ten p atients from the unities of three hospitais in Rio de Janeiro City. The technic which was used to search, consisted of the observation. The obtained results showed that the predominant therapeutic behavior indicate the physical alteratioll in detriment of the emotional, making evident that when the person who ta kes care of the patients leaves the whole performance, it will cause se rious damages to th . e help for these patients whose basic human necessity aftected , is pred om inately rel ated to the emotional assurance.
