Show more

“…The method based on conditional independence treats each and every variable independently of its nondescendants, conditioned to their parents. This means that each and every Bayesian network represents a function of density and unique probability that can be factored (Carvalho and Chiann, 2013).…”

“…Thus, the total risk is the sum of the risks of each transaction (Khakzad et al, 2013b), providing a more structured and accurate model (Carvalho & Chiann, 2013). These procedures underpin the formulation of the prior probability distribution on exposure to the occupational risk, which will be put to test in subsequent phases.…”

“…Bayesian Networks (BN) are a scienti c and structural phenomenon of arti cial intelligence, encoding probabilities and uncertainties through observable values, supporting decision-making with a subjective degree of belief [14]. A BN is a model de ned by causalities that try to probabilistically describe the relationships of knowledge networks that overcome information limitations and incomplete understandings, helping in decision making.…”

“…The application of BN in health is appropriate, as the health conditions of individuals have several variables. As the complexity of the clinical situation increases, uncertainty increases, and with it the number of variables, dependencies, probabilities, and possible paths [14][15]. In the scienti c literature, exclusive BN for screening for LA was not found.…”
