Editorial note

Abstract: The Brazilian Journal of Biology is completing this year sixty years of continuous publication. While this is an achievement, the International Institute of Ecology which is, now, the only organization in charge of the publication, is seeking new ways of maintaining it independently of some financial sources of funding. For that it is proposed to create an Association of the Brazilian Journal of Biology which would support financially the journal.
