Abstract: Objectives: To determine the relationship between body mass index (BMI), homeostasis model assessment -insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) and insulinemia.Methods: This was a prospective cross-sectional observational study of 132 prepubescent schoolchildren residents in the municipality of Santo André, Brazil.
