Comportamento De Sementes De Grão-De-Bico Na Armazenagem

Abstract

Lotes homogêneos de sementes de grão-de-bico (Cicer arietinum L.) colhidas em quatro locais no Estado de São Paulo, em 1991, foram analisados, no início, quanto à umidade, germinação, vigor e massa de mil sementes. Em seguida, procedeu-se ao armazenamento, por dois anos, nas seguintes situações: (a) em câmara à temperatura de 12oC e 48% de umidade relativa, (b) em laboratório sem controle das condições ambientes. Efetuaram-se testes de germinação e de vigor pelo método de envelhecimento acelerado (42oC/48 horas), aos 6, 12 e 24 meses, a fim de avaliar o comportamento das sementes nas diferentes formas de armazenagem. As sementes colhidas em Campinas revelaram maior massa que as demais, apesar da semelhança entre os lotes, quanto ao teor de umidade. Os índices de germinação e de vigor decresceram de maneira significativa com o tempo de armazenamento. Sementes conservadas em câmara, cujas condições eram controladas, mantiveram melhor qualidade em relação às armazenadas em laboratório. Sementes oriundas de Monte Alegre do Sul mostraram índices de germinação e vigor superiores aos das demais localidades; quanto aos valores menos satisfatórios, pôde-se observá-los no material de Campinas.<br>Chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) homogeneous seedlots, harvested in four sites in São Paulo State, Brazil, were initially evaluated for germination, vigor, moisture content and seed weigth. Thereafter, seedlots were submitted to storage, during two years, under the following conditions: (a) chamber at 12oC and 48% of relative humidity and (b) at room conditions. Germination and vigor tests (accelerated aging test, 42oC/48h), were applied at 6, 12, and 24 month intervals. All four seedlots showed similar water contents, ranging from 10.7 to 11.2%. However, seeds from Campinas were heavier than those harvested in the other localities. Seed germination and vigor decreased significantly with the increase of the storage period. Seedlots stored under controlled conditions presented higher germination and vigor values than those kept in the laboratory. Seeds harvested at Monte Alegre do Sul showed better germination and vigor than those from other places

Production and quality of chickpea seeds in different sowing and harvest periods

Qualidade das sementes de diferentes genótipos de grão-de-bico produzidas no Norte de Minas Gerais
