O Endosperma de café como material para estudos citológicos

Abstract: O endosperma de café foi utilizado, com sucesso, para contagens de cromossomos, tendo-se empregado a técnica da orceína acética para sua coloração. Foi possível constatar que, na variedade typica de C. arabica L., todos os endospermas examinados possuiam 3n=66 cromossomos, enquanto que endospermas com 62, 64, 66 e 68 cromossomos ocorreram em plantas monossômicas (2n=43) da referida espécie.
