Abstract:Em 1952 Gibbs e Gibbs 8 descreveram o padrão eletrencefalográfico denominado hipsarritmia. No simpósio de Marselha 7 sobre este tema ficou bem estabelecido que a hipsarritmia típica se apresenta em vigília como uma sucessão contínua de ondas lentas e pontas, de grande amplitude, sem relação precisa de fase, e distribuídas sem qualquer sincronismo.
