Abstract: Apesar dos progressos da antibioticoterapia, as infecções no pós-operató-rio constituem ainda grande problema em neurocirurgia, pois contribuem para o aumento da mortalidade e morbidade operatórias, aumentam o período de permanência hospitalar e determinam ou agravam as sequelas 4 .
