Esofagite de refluxo em crianças: estudo histológico e morfométrico

Abstract: RESUMO -Racional -Refluxo gastroesofágico é afecção relativamente comum na infância e pode causar morbidade, havendo porém poucos estudos histológicos e morfométricos em biopsias esofágicas de crianças. If the edema, erythema and friability commonly observed in children are non-specific, findings from histological examination and morphometric studies of the esophageal mucosa allow an etiologic diagnosis of eosinophilic esophagitis if characteristic alterations such as eosinophil infiltrates, increased total epithelial and basal cell thickness, and elongation of stromal papillae are seen [47].
