Growth Analysis of Preterm Newborns With Gastroschisis During Hospitalization in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Abstract: BACKGROUND: Gastroschisis, especially complex type, prematurity and low birth weight are associated with a worse clinical outcome with higher mortality, higher incidence of sepsis and catheter-related infection, cholestasis, short bowel syndrome, greater number of days to achieve full diet, longer time of parenteral nutrition and longer hospitalization time.
